Machines comparativesEdging polishing machine, mono-spindle. This machine is very flexible, able to carry out all different edges, with good polishing. But it works slowly ( few meters per hour). The software and the numerical control drive the spindle mouvement on X, Y and Z axes The processing is done with cup wheels ( with the possibility to use a peripheral wheel for roughing). So the quality is very good, similar manual work.
The wheels store option is very interesting because you can carry out completly the edge, with final polishing included without an operator. So this way the machine is able to work outside normal working hours. Some machines are able to process in the same time several pieces, even with different edges and thicknesses. To drive the spindle there are on the market 2 different systems. -A circular rack. It is the system present on the market with the first machines. It need frequent adjustments and maintenance, due to the water and stone powder located on the rack during processing.
It is the best system. Moreover it allows to have more different edges possibilities. This machine working alone some security systems must be included ( water, wheels wearing...) Even if it is a low machine , it is an interesting one, because the quality is very good ( for the best machines of the market). And it can process the rectilinear job allowing to focus teh other machines ( cnc for exemple ) on more profitable jobs ( shape, slanted planes for kitchen, sinks..)
