Horizontal glass washing machines
The horizontal washing machine has 3 main advantages:
A better washing quality
The possibility to wash shaped glasses
The possibility to work on line with high productivity double edger machines.
But also 3 inconveniences
The place required in your workshop, is more important than for a vertical one,
The maximum washing dimension, because they are closed on the 2 sides (the vertical washing machines can be open on the upper side to wash in two times large glass).
The price
The price for horizontal washing machines is generally more important than for a vertical washing machine.
These machines are generally built with 4 different sections
Pre-washing (with "Camenbert" brushes)
Washing (with 2 or 3 pairs of brushes)
Rinsing
Drying
These machines work generally in very hard conditions
Always in contact with water. So it is important to have an important part of the machine built with inox steel
Presence of processing residues (cerium oxyde, silica, sand coming from sandblasting processing, oils from cutting..)
The key points
The upper part of the machine must be easily lifted for cleaning, maintenance or to remove glass in case of problems during the washing inside the machine.
The minimum dimensions for the glass (distance between the rolls).
Be careful also about the inlet and oulet conveyors dimensions. Very often these machines are supplied with very short inlet and outlet conveyors which don’t allow good working conditions.
