Straight line bevelling machines
The bevel is surely one of the most difficult work to carry out in glass processing.
For edging, depending the machine or the operator the quality result can be different, but more often acceptable.
For bevel it is different. The smallest defect is visible (no scratches, no shade, no lines, no small points..) and such a product is impossible to sell.
To carry out a perfect bevel the quality of the machine and the easiness for adjustment is basic.
Few machines are really able to do this.
The minimum number of wheels for bevelling is 5;
-One metallic diamond wheel for bevel roughing
-One bakelite diamond wheel
-One bakelite diamong wheel with fine diamond git size (700) for finishing or a rubber polishing wheel
-One felt with mixture water and cerium oxyde
-You need also a fifth wheel (for front arise or edge), to cut the front arise and avoid the felt destruction
Moreover the bevel quality, some others things need to have a look.
-Do the bevel reach the angles'corner?
-Is the machine easy to adjust automatically?
-How is done the bevel programming
-How is done the diamond wheel wearing compensation allowing each wheel to perform perfectly?
-Maintenance
-Waterproof cerium circuit
The Two independant networks (water and water+cerium oxyde) pollute each others if waterproof is not efficient with very high cost in maintenance ( brushes and other spare parts) and cerium oxide using.
