Vertical numerical machines for glass pocessing
The vertical numerical control for glass are machines just proposed on the market. They arrive from 2 directions:
-The traditional vertical drilling machines suppliers who started from a vertical drilling machines and added other options (milling, edging, polishing..)
-New suppliers comming directly on the glass market processing with such a machine (sometimes from stone machines market)
The main advantages are:
-Area spare
The space you need in your workshop for such a machine is less important than the one you need for a traditional horizontal CNC machine.
-On line working (for washing for exemple..), with less operator interventions, less scratches and productivity improving.
-Double spindle drilling
The drilling is always a problem on CNC machines even if some suppliers have proposed solutions. But the best way to drill is always with 2 opposite spindles, what is not possible on traditional CNC machines.
But up to now the new vertical CNC machines offer less options than the horizontal traditional ones. But this problem could be reduced in the future?
Less important tools stores.
Moreover the vertical CNC machines are more expensive.
The way the glass pieces drops (during milling) are to be study carefully.
But with some experience years for such machines it seems they are more convenient when you want to work on line and more and more proposed inside a comprehensive glass working lines.
