Non-destructive testing
: "Non-Destructive Testing (CND) and the Controllability of Materials and Structures", by Gilles Corneloup and Cécile Gueudré
Non-Destructive Testing (CND) is a collection of methods for controlling an object without modifying it. This book provides an exhaustive overview of the parameters for carrying out this evaluation. The conditions of occurrence and the characteristics of the potential defects are described in detail, as well as the current physical principles, technology and methods of CND, whether they are common (ultrasound, radiography, etc.) or specific (ACFM ...). This manual also describes methods for identifying factors that can degrade measurements and distort the diagnosis, so the concept of "structural noise" is defined and environmental parameters are introduced. Solutions, including the advances in phenomena modeling and inversion optimization, are also proposed. The book deals finally with the a posteriori processing of the information obtained (signal, image), and exposes a new approach (RC-CND) showing the interest of taking into account rules of CND from the design of the structures. This unparalleled synthesis has several levels of reading; It is aimed equally at the professionals and practitioners of the field, for whom it will be a valuable and lasting reference, only to students of bachelor, master or doctorate, who will discover in these pages all the richness and the potential of this discipline.

The Stone and its decor. Vial Edition
Editions Vial publishes 4 interesting works on the work of stone.
Volume 2: ornaments
Public: anyone interested in the size of the stone and ornamental sculpture: future artisans, young professionals as well as those who are more confirmed, specialized antique dealers, architects, lovers of old stones.
Continuation of the first volume published in 2012, this work remains in the pedagogical logic adopted by the author. The architectural elements are described in their varieties, their manufacture and, where appropriate, the indications for installation and implementation.
Indissociable from architecture, the ornaments that sublimate it are studied to give you another grid of reading monuments. The simplest molding is made to play with light and contributes to the perfection of the whole of an architecture.
Summary:
Tools for sculpture. Fountains and wells. The table base. The vases. Ornaments: ornate moldings, friezes, panels, foliage, cartouches, shells, garlands, cornucopias, modillions, consoles, corbelle, acanthus, pellets, palmette, rosette, pinnacles, florets, hooks.
