Pyroverre acquires the Cluzel mirrors in France
Pyroverre is a glass products processor based in Châteauneuf-du-Rhône (Drome), storer and distributor of fire resistance glasses from Pilkington (NSG group) for the southern part of French territory.
The company, created in 2010, is specialized in the transformation of Pilkington Pyrostop and Pilkington Pyrodur glass products. She cuts custom glass for a clientele made up of mirror makers and carpenters. Its design office is dedicated to specific customer requests to ensure compliance with fire regulations.
In 2015, the Côté Verre company, founded by Maryline Pereira, joined the group to offer online sales of all types of cut, shaped and then shipped glazing from the production workshop. The online configuration tool makes it easy for customers to order on the site.
Why the Cluzel mirror?
We asked Mathieu Guenin, manager of the company, to explain the reasons for this takeover. Mathieu Guenin and Maryline Pereira know that the implementation is the continuity of Côté Verre's activity, the demand from local customers being recurring and increasingly important. They then form an installation team. They quickly realized that it would be easier to do an external growth operation. They are interested in a possible acquisition and have found the miroiterie Cluzel in Montélimar, near Châteauneuf-du-Rhône. The manager, Danielle Fargier, wanted to retire. She was assisted by Eric Coin on a technical level with solid know-how.
The company's equipment allows for the cutting, shaping and drilling necessary for simple mirror-making operations. It has a van with a glass-holder gantry. The store has an area of 80 m2 and the workshop of 160 m2.
The clientele consists mainly of individuals and professionals as well as local administrations.
Integration and transformations
The takeover took place at the end of January 2021. Mathieu Guenin recruited Paul Fabre as agency manager as well as Dorotea Nacasabog as sales assistant. Dannielle Fargier will accompany them for three months to pass on his knowledge to them, while Eric Coin will continue his consulting, cutting and glass installation activity.
The existing store will host a new showroom in the form of a show apartment to enhance the offer of the mirror by presenting the products in situ. Railings, kitchen splashbacks, a floor slab, a staircase and a dielectric mirror hiding a screen. The turnover of around 300,000 euros is expected to rise to 600,000 euros.
Although the health crisis has slightly impacted Pyroverre's activity due to the shutdown of construction sites during the health crisis, Mathieu Guenin remains optimistic and believes that the French economy will rebound rapidly. At the same time, online sales via the Côté Verre site are experiencing significant growth, explains Maryline Pereira.
New float in France
The Glass Trösch group will invest in the construction of a new furnace at its French site in Homboutg to replace the current furnace from 2008 which was reaching the end of its life.
In addition, an extension of the site to 45,000 m² is planned.
Production from another site will also be transferred there during 2023, with the arrival of 80 employees.
Diamond resin wheels improving
The wheel is lighter, resulting in less stress on the spindle
The slats on the base have been specially designed so that the water is sprayed, and there fore reaches the point of contact between the grinding wheel and the glass uniformly and in the best way possible
The material ensures greater rigidity and therefore more direct transmission of pressure levels set by operators
The base guarantees perfect balance of the grinding wheel.
lAl these new features don’t definitely affect wheel quality in terms of bonding, that is still the same, but they simply improve performances from a mechanical point of view
