Granittam goes to export
Through its subsidiary Granittam, created in 2016, the Hasnaoui Group of Companies (GHS) is preparing to invest in the export market for granite and marble.
In this perspective, the focus is on increasing production for these two products before moving to the international marketing stage in Europe and China. This 100% Algerian company, specialized in the stone industry and equipped with quarrying facilities in Tamanrasset, as well as others dedicated to the processing and processing of stone, respectively in Tamanrasset and Sidi Bel Abbès, is in the process of setting up new equipment to precisely strengthen its production capacity.
This is to increase this capacity from 3500 m2 (currently) to 10 000 m2 per day in a few months. This is what we learned from Omar Hasnaoui, General Manager of the eponymous company, during a guided tour on the stand of the company during the 21st edition of the International Exhibition of Building Materials and public works (Batmatec).
An event that allowed this group, integrator of global solutions for the building sector, to present its new products, its innovations, but also to return to its medium-term priorities, namely mainly the strengthening of the national production capacity building materials and energy efficiency. The opportunity was also given to visitors to discover innovative solutions in terms of building envelopment, including the external thermal insulation system, the aluminum joinery with thermal break (via its subsidiary Alumex ) and the new range of fire doors manufactured by its subsidiary MDM.
For the GHS representative, the most important is to add value to the building sector through the valorization of local raw materials, with the objectives of satisfying the national needs in granite and marble, the creation of a new market with a local production and a new quality label, the conquest of the export market, and finally the creation of an economic dynamic in the South, precisely in Tamanrasset where the extraction is done.
Which is feasible, in the opinion of the representative of the group, especially with regard to the export side. "Our products are competitive and the market is there. We try to have customers everywhere, "he says. And announce in the same wake the intention of the group to engage in the production of resin.
The project is planned for the 2018 financial year. "There are advantages not to be overlooked, especially with regard to the cost of energy. So, both seize the opportunity and get into this niche, "said Omar Hasnaoui, whose company has also invested in the production of surveillance cameras that will be placed on the market in two months via its subsidiary HTA (Hasnaoui Telecom Algeria) created, as a reminder, in 2012, and which is waiting for the agreement of Algeria Telecom to market its IPTV offer, a cable TV solution.
Here too, it is optimism on the part of the group as to the outcome of the project. Discussions are ongoing and "on track", according to Omar Hasnaoui, whose group brings together, as a reminder, more than 17 companies operating in services and agriculture and construction real estate.
It is in this segment that the group intervenes the most and where prospects are promising, says the group's CEO, highlighting the importance of this market with the multitude of projects launched by private property developers through the entire national territory. "That's what will boost demand, especially for finishing materials," says the GHS CEO confidently.
